Find Birth Parents
by Staff Writer
At BirthSearcher.com, my website contains a special section devoted to the experiences of my clients. All of these letters are reprinted with the writers’ consent. Some tell of experiences that were positive. Others speak of those that were painful. What they all do is give potential searchers a very clear idea of all the potential outcomes and offer tools for acceptance.
I will never expect you to tell me why you are searching for your birth family. It’s none of my business. However, what I will hope that you do is ask yourself why you are searching for them.
Answers, in and of themselves, may not bring closure. Even hearing a somehow-familiar voice on the phone or seeing a somehow-familiar face won’t necessarily provide a sense of peace. Though one should always hope for the best, one must be prepared that a search and reunion may not be the stuff that Hollywood movies are made of. It’s therefore vital to your own emotional health that your expectations are realistic and that you know exactly what it is that you’re looking for.
BirthSearcher.com is different from many next-of-kin search companies. First, I have found my own lost family members. Secondly, I consider this work a labor of love and charge considerably less than many other sites. In fact, many times I am able to offer a “no-find/no-fee” guarantee. Yet I don’t give “bargain basement” service. I promise to never dump revelatory information on you and disappear. If you want to talk, I am always there, and, if you need to take a break, I’ll be waiting for you when you’re ready to take the next step.
