Struggling Teens

by Staff Writer

Teens struggle for a variety of reasons. Some have school difficulties, others battle with the behavioral disorders. Many teens suffer from major depression, while others develop rebellious behaviors while associating with a negative peer group. As a parent, you are likely ready and willing to help your teen with most issues, but are at a loss for knowing how to handle out-of-control behavior problems.

You, the parent, are your teen’s most valuable asset. Offering your love and attention is the first step in helping your struggling teen. Without you to take notice of your teen’s issues, they might spiral out of control and become much harder to overcome. The best thing you can do for your teen is recognize problems and seek help right away.

For some teens, help can be found locally. Some teens benefit from counseling close to home. However, for many teens, treatment close to home doesn’t work. Being so close to temptations and negative peer influences can serve as a deterrent to true change. Often, teens are much better served by a controlled environment away from potential distractions and manipulative influences.

At Liahona Academy, we are dedicated to helping troubled teen boys by removing them from familiar distractions and giving them a fresh start in our remote Utah location. We are experienced with helping boys from 12 to 17 years of age with issues ranging from ADD and ODD to substance abuse and school failure. Let us help your son reclaim his life. Contact us at Liahona Academy toll-free at 1-877-650-4357 to learn more.
