Strobe Systems

by Staff Writer

While it is unlikely that you will ever experience any problems with strobe systems from Kuntzleman, there are some relatively easy steps to take if you do have issues of one kind or another. In most cases, a minor adjustment can solve your difficulty. The first step is to determine the circumstances under which the issue first appeared in your strobe system.

If the system is a new installation, you will want to carefully review the installation instructions. Make sure that you have connected all terminals securely and properly. If necessary, disconnect and repeat installation, step by step, to make sure that your strobe system is not defective.

On the other hand, if your strobe lights were working and then quit all of a sudden, the first thing to do is to check the driver box and make sure that it is receiving an adequate level of power, at least 12 volts. If you are using a Kuntzleman Smart Strobe model that is powered by your aircraft’s AC electrical system, remember that you can power it by a battery for testing purposes.

If your Kuntzleman strobe system is a dual light model and only one light is working, try swapping the plugs at the driver. If this doesn’t fix the failed light, then the problem lies in the driver, and you will need to return it to Kuntzleman. In the unlikely event that you experience such a defect in your strobe system, rest easy knowing that Kuntzleman has the fastest repair turn around time of any strobe system manufacturer.
