Diversity Training Games
by Staff Writer
Diversity issues confront people of all ages and backgrounds. They often affect the interactions between people and cause assumptions and judgments to be made. They build up walls, stifle communication and in many cases, inhibit progress. Some of us are taught at a young age that being different is what makes us special and unique. Society, however, doesn’t always embrace this idea.
In school, children and teenagers face diversity challenges among their peers. They may be victims of bullying, peer pressure or isolation. Children also form cliques in school, usually with other students who behave or look similarly to them. In the business world, diversity issues may keep employees from communicating openly with each other. This can harm productivity and growth and lead to an unpleasant work environment.
Using diversity training games designed by InterPlay is a great way to tear down these walls. Our interactive exercises promote open communication between participants. The real issues are addressed and solutions are found by the participants themselves. Feelings and ideas can be expressed in a safe environment and always from a protagonist’s point of view.
InterPlay’s diversity training games provide a fun way for participants to get to know one another. By acting out scenes, participating in theatre games and taking part in an open dialogue, participants can learn to embrace diversity. They may also be surprised to learn that their fellow participants, whom they thought were so different from them, are not that different after all.
