Georgia Health Care
by Staff Writer
Georgia is home to hundreds of wellness centers, outpatient clinics, and top-rated hospitals. From the Decatur Hospital in Decatur to the Doctors Hospital in Augusta, Georgians have access to a wide range of cutting-edge treatments. Most of the nation’s major health care providers have divisions in Georgia, and there are state-subsidized programs for those who would otherwise not be able to afford medical treatment.
Despite its plethora of top-notch facilities, Georgia, like many states, is experiencing a shortage of qualified health care workers. This nationwide need for trained medical professionals is only going to grow more pronounced in the next decade, according to many respected sources. Home care workers are among the groups slated to be most in demand.
Home care workers range from companions and housekeepers to medical assistants and registered nurses. All ages of people use home care these days, especially since lengthy hospital stays are no longer needed nor are they economically viable. Instead, many medical and other assistance services can be performed in the home.
Georgia is home to alternative and holistic health care centers as well. Some choices include Cary Health Alternatives in La Grange, the Edgewood College of Georgia and the Himalayan Heritage Natural Healing Center in Cumming, Georgia. There are even holistic veterinarians practicing in the state, to round out the state’s varied health care options.
