Download Audio Books
by Staff Writer
Anyone who enjoys audio books has undoubtedly checked them out at their local libraries. However, these audio books usually come on multiple compact discs–sometimes 10 of them or even more, depending on a book’s length. This is not only cumbersome, but it also limits portability, making it difficult to take an audio book with you during a commute to work, for example.
At Kitabe.com, it’s possible to rent a new form of audio book over the Internet. Our service doesn’t allow our members to download audio books, however. What we do is offer audio books for rent in the MP3-CD format. Instead of using multiple CDs for a single unabridged book, many of our thousands of audio books at Kitabe.com are each stored on one CD in the MP3 format.
Renting audio books via the postal service is better than downloading for a number of reasons. For one, there’s no need to leave your computer on for hours at a time while a title downloads. Our members simply add the titles they wish to rent to their online queues, and titles are shipped out to them one, two, or three MP3-CDs at a time depending on their subscription plans. Currently, we offer three subscription plans at various price points, each with a 10-day free trial to get a feel for our service.
Included in a Kitabe.com monthly subscription is access to thousands of audio books, unlimited rentals, and postage for each rental both ways. Included with each rental is an envelope for returning the rental. This means that whether you live in the United States or Canada, you can rent an unlimited number of MP3-CD audio books each month for less than the cost of a single paperback book here at Kitabe.com.
