Donate Car To Charity

Selling a used car, whether directly to a buyer or to a dealer, can involve numerous headaches. If you have a car that you no longer drive, it’s a great idea to donate your vehicle to Special Kids Fund instead. Not only will you be able to dispose of your car quickly and free of charge, but your gift will be of great benefit to educationally, emotionally, and physically disabled children.

Special Kids Fund is classified as a 501(c)(3) non-profit, so any contributions you make to our organization are tax deductible. It is up to you, the donor, (per IRS rules) to determine the fair market value of your car for tax deduction purposes; we give you a receipt to keep for your records, but we do not assess the value of your vehicle at the time of pick-up.

Under the new tax laws, you are allowed to claim up to $500 for the fair market value of your car on your taxes, with the charity receipt as documentation. However, if we sell your car at auction for over $500, you are entitled to deduct the entire gross sale amount from your taxes. In that instance, we will send you verification in writing of the final sale amount immediately following the transaction.
