Daytona Rolex Watches
Daytona Rolex WatchesMost people recognize Rolex as a name symbolizing quality and workmanship in Swiss wristwatches. But what many don’t know is that the Rolex Company was a leader in developing innovative materials that are used today as a matter of course in watches. For example, in the 1930s, Rolex invented an unbreakable synthetic material that became the replacement for glass in watch faces. Then they developed a new sealing mechanism, which gave the case a watertight, impenetrable seal. As water resistance took on a more important role, Rolex introduced a winding mechanism that was completely water resistant when closed, giving the public the first completely waterproof watch in existence. With the help of Rolex, watches were becoming less a novelty and more functional timepieces. The first self-winding Rolex watch came into production in 1931. It operated as many still do today, relying on the wearer’s movement to wind. The internal mechanism eliminated the need for winding the watch, which often resulted in over-winding by the wearer. Today’s Daytona Rolex watches are fine examples of this innovative Rolex engineering. Daytona Rolex watches are striking in both form and function. The model is a rather large, distinctive watch. It displays three smaller dials on the face of the watch, and includes a stopwatch function. The face is available in a variety of colors. Daytona Rolex watches are still in production, but they can be difficult to find due to their popularity. We can help you find just the right Rolex for your individual style.
