Pronghorn Antelope Hunts
by Staff Writer
If you love a thrilling chase, the pronghorn antelope makes an ideal adversary. The fastest land animal in North America, the pronghorn can run as quickly as a car traveling on a highway, with the fastest pronghorns clocking in at around 60 miles per hour. Equipped with incredibly keen eyesight, the pronghorn’s vision is said to rival a pair of 8x-magnification binoculars.
At Desert Safaris, we are known for offering exceptional pronghorn antelope hunting adventures. Our antelope hunts have been featured on two television programs: Texas Trophy Hunters and Cabela’s Outfitters Journal. The hunts take place over 250,000 acres of land encompassing nine separate ranches in the Trans-Pecos region of West Texas. On a typical day, our safari-style hunts cover thousands of acres of land.
The elevations on our property range from 4,000 to 4,500 feet, with comfortable October temperatures falling between 30 and 85 degrees. This is prime pronghorn habitat, and many of the bucks grow quite large. Because the difference between an average pronghorn and a genuine trophy can be a matter of inches, our expert guides are very careful to pick out only the most promising bucks from the herd.
Each of our pronghorn hunts runs three days and includes three nights of lodging, three meals per day, 2×1 guide service and field care for your trophies.
