Time Management For Women

Today, more then ever, a woman’s time is in demand. In the workplace and at home, it can seem that list of things that need to get done is always at odds with the time you have to do them. Luckily, there are a few simple tricks to time management for everyone that can make a big difference.

When time seems to be slipping away, you can reign it back in by setting a schedule for yourself. Try creating a family calendar, and placing it somewhere everyone can see, like on the refrigerator. As you make plans, immediately place them on the calendar–doctor’s appointments, sporting events, school programs, etc. That way you know where you’re needed and when, and where everyone else is going to be.

To help manage chore time around the house, you can create a family work chart. As a family, decide what the most important common chores are–doing the dishes, cleaning a room, collecting dirty laundry–and place them in a list. Then, every day or every week, a different member of the family gets assigned a task. Place the chart where everyone can see it; with everyone pitching in with chores, your time will free up significantly.

One of the best ways to manage your time is to adopt a routine. If there are a set of tasks that need to be done every night, establish a pattern in which to do them. For example, the end of each night may go like this–checking your children’s homework, bath time, prepping lunch for the next day, laying out clothes for the morning, and getting backpacks ready. If you follow a set routine, you’ll find that you get more and more efficient, and your evenings will have more time for family activities and personal time.
