Big Bear Skiing

by Staff Writer

Skiing in Big Bear is some of the most fun a Southern California resident can have. Although it is only a short drive from many of So-Cal’s big cities, Big Bear is just far enough away to provide a welcome respite from the congestion. With the crisp wind flying through your hair as you zip down the mountain, it will only be a matter of time before all your stress melts away.

If you are thinking about planning a ski trip to Big Bear this winter, you would be smart to plan ahead. Although Big Bear’s small size enhances its reputation as a quaint ski village, it also prohibits too many people from visiting at once. This characteristic serves as both a positive as a negative. The lucky few who secure reservations ahead of time can enjoy the mountain at their leisure (as Big Bear refuses to allow the lifts to become overcrowded). Unfortunately for latecomers, however, once the mountain reaches capacity no more lift tickets can be issued.

Big Bear is a fantastic place to ski for people of all levels. For the pros, the area’s black diamond trails provide the perfect challenge. Meanwhile, newcomers can enjoy Big Bear’s numerous bunny slopes and ski classes. From tiny children to grown adults, everyone is welcome at Big Bear Mountain!

Here at Mountain Time Resorts, we believe that everyone should experience the charm of Big Bear at least once. For help in making your travel plans or if you would like to rent a cabin nearby the ski lifts, we hope you won’t hesitate to contact us. We would love nothing more than to help . . . just don’t wait too long!
