Although the summer is undoubtedly our busiest season, the wonders of the Smoky Mountains can be experienced year round. That’s why Smoky Mountain Country Club is open all four seasons–because people love the area in every season. If you’re inclined to see the Smokies in the fall or winter, you might even be able to get a great deal on your vacation, since rates tend to drop during these seasons.

In the autumn, the changing colors of the leaves turn the already-breathtaking green mountains into a canvas of red, gold, and orange. Although the nights get colder, many people consider this time of year to be perfect hiking weather. So as long as you’re moving, it’s easy to stay warm and you can enjoy uncrowded trails and spectacular foliage right up until the first snowfall.

Once the winter comes, there’s still no stopping people. The many trails that criss-cross the mountains make for exceptional cross-country skiing, and skiers travel from miles around to enjoy the winter landscapes. Certainly, there’s something about a snow-covered mountain range that’s utterly unforgettable to so many people.
