Bagua Mirrors

In feng shui, a bagua (pronouncedba’ gwa) is important in the initial analysis of the space you wish to work with. A bagua is a type of map that represents an area and the elements that affect different sections of that area. The bagua is divided into nine sections: Marriage/Relationships, Children/Creativity, Helpful People, Career, Knowledge/Self Cultivation, Health, Family, Wealth, and Fame/Success. The five elements represented are Fire, Metal, Water, Wood, and Earth.

Bagua mirrors are mirrors within an eight-sided frame. They have a variety of uses. Aside from being aesthetically attractive, they can reroute positive energy (chi)that is misguided. Bagua mirrors can be used for protection and to amplify light. Mirrors have many uses, and it is important they be used correctly. The Many Uses for Mirrors
A flat mirror can be used to make a room look larger and to make a negative space look more attractive. When you walk into your home, if the first thing you see is a blank wall, a mirror in that space will be more aesthetically appealing. By using a mirror, you’ll help the chi of that area to be more pleasant.

A convex mirror can be used to deflect negative (sha) energy. If a neighbor is bothering you, place a convex mirror outside your front door and the sha will be deflected from your home. You shouldn’t use mirrors for harmful purposes–use them to protect yourself and your home, but no more. As when using any feng shui practice, change can happen as soon as within the hour or in as much as a few weeks.

A concave mirror placed in the southwest corner of your bedroom can attract positive chi for your marriage or relationships.
